In this video, you will learn about how to build a pass-through connector. You’ll need to start with cat5 or cat6 lead crooks. The ones he uses in the video are called easy wire or free wire.
Before you crimp it and waste your plug, you’ll want to make sure you have everything in the right order. Some tools you need are wire cutters to cut the cable to length, crimpers, cable stripper, knife, screwdriver, and cable. First, you take the cable and make it into a patch lead. Use the wire cutters to cut it to the length you want it. You will want to use the cable stripper to expose the wire. He uses a knife, personally. Ideally, you want two to three inches of exposed wire after you strip the cable of its casing. If it has a divider cable, you can cut it off with the wire cutters being careful not to remove any wiring pairs. To straighten the pairs out, use the flat end of the screwdriver and run them along. Again, be sure not to cut anything. It doesn’t have to be perfect, you just want it to be straight enough.
